Media training for activists

Media training in Norway for African campaigners on extractive transparency.

Overview

When Publish What You Pay asked di:ga to deliver media and communications training for 25 civil society activists from resource-rich African states we were really excited. We travelled to Oslo and ran three separate sessions followed by broadcast interview training in front of the Norwegian parliament.

Topics covered included the core principles of strategic communications, target mapping and messaging, and social media for campaigning. The training was part of the TRACE programme, a capacity building course for civil society organisations, journalists and workers’ unions from resource rich countries in the South. The feedback we received from participants was very positive.
